Another fairly mundane update- but as we’re sat at an airport with a beer, we’ve got time.
After last minute packing and faffing today we’re at Heathrow ready to catch out flight. The most excitement so far has been getting trapped on the wrong side of a security gate after having my bag searched (metal water bottle still too much for scanners apparently). I was ignored by everyone I tried to get help me, helpless and already fending for myself before I’d even got on the plane.
I got my phone out to send a photo of the now-closed doors to Leonie to explain my predicament and that I wasn’t being interrogated in a white room.
Here’s a travel tip for getting attention/help when in airport security- get your phone out to take a photo. The nice security people came straight over, and after a bit of explanation the doors were opened for me.
Back to beer, and then flight.
